Brick Works – the body speaks to us, 2010

These brick patterns play with our consciousness and unconscious perception, of what we expect to see and what we seem to see. The linear grid on each end of the individual panels confirms that the lines between the bricks are parallel, yet in the act of seeing they become oscillating wedges that, like a perspective drawing, seem to produce the illusion of space.

Images of every conceivable kind call for our attention; This work is for the viewers who are standing waiting walking, talking and all the whole while looking.
