ANATOMY OF SHAPE # 2, (1978 – 1980)

This body of work demonstrated to me the structural complexity of what I called the ANATOMY OF SHAPE or the anatomy of identity. These works were intended to demonstrate the possibilities inherent in individual shapes and their visual interconnections. I chose to develop these visual tools slowly to unfold their potential rather than rush the process. Having no preconceived expectations of how this line of intellectual and emotive aesthetic enquiry would develop, from the very beginning I responded to this project both viscerally and intellectually. Since I was also interested in manifesting these developments through a material presence, I therefore chose to construct these works using pigmented plaster that I related to building a structure, a home.
Yvonne Lammerich has shown nationally and internationally since 1973. Her work is included in museums as well as corporate and private collections.
